About us

Our vision is to see the people of Hyndburn access all of life’s opportunities and reach their full potential.

Our aim is to provide a resource centre that will address the wellbeing and needs of local people. We can provide room hire, office lets, and we are looking to bring additional services and activities into the centre to address the needs of our community.

The St James old school building was purchased on 29th October 2003 by Hyndburn borough council and major refurbishment commenced to convert it into a purpose-designed voluntary and community resource centre. The centre is a fully inclusive and accessible friendly centre for all people to access / use. The centre is managed by a small and dedicated board of trustees who ensure the centre is warm, safe, and welcoming.

In 2023 the centre has recently undergone refurbishment because of a national lottery community grant to further enhance the building and make it more disability friendly.
